An NFC Emulator for amiibo is a technology—available as hardware or software—that replicates the data signals of physical amiibo figures. It allows players to unlock exclusive in-game content without the need for the original physical collection.

No, a physical figure is not required. The emulator operates using digital backup files (.bin), which can be created from your own collection or sourced from compatible data archives.

The Nintendo Switch family, Switch 2, 3DS, and Wii U.

Works for over 50 games, including the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Breath of the Wild, Echoes of Wisdom, Splatoon, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Animal Crossing, Super Mario Kart, and more. Check out the Guides for game-specific instructions.

Browse the emulator's built-in amiibo database, which is conveniently organized by game series. You can easily find what you're looking for by searching for a character's name or a specific game title. Each amiibo file is clearly labeled and includes a QR code, which you can scan with your phone to access more detailed information.

If your console isn't detecting the emulator, ensure you are using the correct scanning area.
  • On the Right Joy-Con™, the NFC sensor is located at the center of the right analog stick.
  • On the Pro Controller, the NFC sensor is located at the center logo of the controller.
  • Please ensure your emulator is positioned precisely over this area. For step-by-step instructions, watch our video tutorial in the Guides page.
By default, Nintendo titles enforce a 24-hour cooldown for each amiibo. To use an amiibo infinitely, simply enable the "Auto Rand" feature in the emulator settings. This generates a new ID for every scan, allowing you to bypass the cooldown and farm items without waiting.

Each game has its own method to activate amiibo functionality. We have detailed guides for the most popular games:
